Jeff Sattler grew up in San Antonio and enlisted in the US Army Reserves after turning 17. Upon receiving his teaching degree from the University of Texas at Austin in 1987, Jeff went on active duty with the US Army as a second lieutenant. Stationed in Germany as a tank platoon leader, he later participated in Desert Storm with the 1st Armored Division. Following this, he returned to San Antonio and taught high school English. In 1997, Jeff graduated law school at Baylor University and entered the US Air Force as a judge advocate, serving in a variety of positions throughout the world, including deployments to Kyrgyzstan and Iraq. In 2015, Jeff retired from military service as a colonel, and he began teaching business law at Texas A&M University-San Antonio, first in an adjunct professor capacity and now as a clinical assistant professor since 2019.
