Ernest Vasquez is a Participating Faculty member in the Department of Computing and Cyber Security (CCS) at Texas A&M University-San Antonio where he teaches Management Information Systems, Computer Networks, and Penetration Testing.

He has been in the Technology field for over 30 years having worked at companies such as USAA, Valero Energy, and Pacific Gas and Electric both in technical as well as leadership roles in Software Development, Cybersecurity as well as IT Infrastructure, Operations, and Big Data platforms. He is currently the Director of Infrastructure, Operations, and Cloud Platforms for Northside ISD Technology Services.

He also teaches Digital Forensics, Incident Response and Handling, Intrusion Detection, and Introduction to Databases at Palo Alto College and has taught at Park University, Air Force Officer Training School, and Air Force Basic Training as a Master Instructor.
Ernest is a retired Colonel, U.S. Air Force having served 40 years with his last assignment as Chief Cloud Architect with the Secretary of the Air Force Chief Data Office and Chief Analytics Officer at Sixteenth Air Force (Air Forces Cyber).  
His credentials include a BS in Management from the University of Maryland, a MA in Organizational Development from Webster University, a MS from Capitol Technical University in Information Technology Architecture, and Executive Graduate Certificates from Rice in Data Science, MIT in Artificial Intelligence, UC Berkley in Data Science, UC Davis in Data Analytics, and a Higher Education Teaching Certification from Harvard.
