Internship Description

AmeriHealth Caritas Family of Companies offers paid summer internships to students enrolled in full time undergraduate or graduate degree programs.

The AmeriHealth Caritas Summer Internship Program provides students with the opportunity to gain meaningful professional experience while learning about the healthcare industry and the work we do to improve access to care and support healthier communities.

Interns will work closely with a designated manager and mentor to contribute to real team initiatives and complete a defined project aligned with departmental priorities. Throughout the program, interns will collaborate with team members, develop professional skills, and gain exposure to the operations and strategy behind managed care, healthcare delivery, and community impact.

At the conclusion of the internship, interns may present their work and key learnings to leaders and peers.

Candidates Should Meet The Following Criteria

• Completion of at least one year of college coursework by the start of the internship
• Minimum 2.5 GPA on a 4.0 scale
• Authorization to work in the United States without sponsorship
• 0-3 actuarial exams
• Basic knowledge of Excel, SAS/SQL, and database applications used for analysis is a plus.
• Ability to work on a team/communicate effectively.
• No experience required.
• Enrolled in an accredited university pursuing a major in Actuarial Science, Statistics, Mathematics, or other applicable majors.

Interns will gain hands-on experience analyzing benefit and reimbursement changes, cost containment programs, and medical trends. They will assist with developing and maintaining data analytics tools, support monthly data analysis projects, and help prepare internal and external communications, including regulatory reporting. Interns will also engage in forecasting models and review claim liabilities using industry best practices.
