As the show grows, BearDownBreakDown312 is building a team of committed individuals who want to write, edit, and gain hands-on experience in sports media.
Role Description: The Football Intern Writer is a partime/internship, fully remote. This role involves researching Chicago Bears news and NFL storylines, writing game previews and recaps, and drafting opinion pieces aligned with the podcast’s tone and brand. The intern writer will assist in preparing show notes, social media captions, and blog posts that support podcast episodes and audience engagement. Day-to-day responsibilities include monitoring team developments, collaborating with hosts and other contributors, revising content based on feedback, and helping maintain a consistent publishing schedule. The position is designed to provide practical experience in sports journalism, content creation, and football-focused storytelling.
Qualifications
• Strong writing and editing skills, with the ability to produce clear, engaging, and football-focused content.
• Demonstrated interest in the Chicago Bears and the NFL, including knowledge of team history, current roster, and league trends.
• Research and fact-checking abilities to ensure accuracy in coverage of rumors, trades, and game analysis.
• Comfort collaborating with podcast hosts, content creators, and media professionals in a fast-paced creative environment.
• Ability to meet deadlines, follow editorial guidelines, and adapt writing style to different formats (articles, show notes, social posts).
