Community Sports Movement aims to empower young athletes in Des Moines by creating opportunities to enhance their skills in the sport of their choice. Through scholarships and tailored program partnerships, we strive to help local athletes compete with neighboring communities. We are a registered nonprofit organization in Des Moines, we are dedicated to connecting students to the most suitable sports opportunities. Our mission is to support and uplift the athletic ambitions and dreams of the Des Moines community.
Role Description
This is a remote unpaid part-time internship role with Community Sports Movement. This Sports Lead Intern (Soccer Specific) position will create, plan and schedule a full year of sports opportunities for the youth, connect with sports organizations to create partnerships and scholarships for the youth in Des Moines. Day-to-day tasks may include engaging with the sports community, assisting and supporting the development efforts of Community Sports Movement.
Qualifications
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills to engage with the community, athletes, and partners.
• Organizational skills and attention to detail to manage a schedule.
• Passion for sports and community development; background or experience in sports is a benefit but not required.
• Self-motivated and capable of working independently in a remote environment.
• Currently enrolled in or recently graduated from a relevant field such as Sports Management, Nonprofit Management, Communications, or a related discipline.
