Role Description The Social Media Intern role is an on-site internship position based in Montgomery, AL. The intern will assist in managing the foundation’s social media channels, including planning, creating, and posting content that aligns with the organization’s mission and activities. Day-to-day tasks include drafting captions and graphics, scheduling posts, monitoring engagement, and responding to comments and messages in a professional manner. The intern will help track performance metrics, support digital campaigns and events, and collaborate with staff to ensure consistent messaging across platforms. This position offers hands-on experience in community-focused communication and an opportunity to build a portfolio of social media work.
Qualifications

• Candidates should possess skills in Social Media Marketing and Digital Marketing to support campaign planning and audience engagement.
• Candidates should possess skills in Social Media Content Creation and Marketing to develop compelling posts, visuals, and messaging.
• Candidates should possess strong Communication skills to interact with community members, write clear copy, and collaborate with team members.
• Interest in nonprofit or community-focused work and awareness of current social media trends and best practices.
• Ability to work on-site in Montgomery, AL, manage time effectively, and handle multiple tasks with attention to detail.
• Basic proficiency with social media platforms (e.g., Facebook, Instagram, X/Twitter, LinkedIn) and common design or scheduling tools is beneficial.
• Current enrollment in or recent completion of a program in Marketing, Communications, Public Relations, or a related field is a plus but not required.
