In this unpaid internship, you may conduct some or all the following activities:
• Earn your Business Development Professional (BDP) Certification for FREE online at your pace
• Collaborate on GBDA social media content (About 30-minutes per day Monday-Friday)
• Build your network of local business leaders to start your career in BD
The internship is remote work made easy for busy university students like you.
FAQ:
• What is GBDA? The Global Business Development Association (GBDA) is a nonprofit trade association promoting the art, science, and ethics of the business development profession.
• Is this a paid internship? No. However, you could qualify to receive compensation once you complete your BDP certification.
• Do I have to pay any fees? No. The BDP certification digital textbook, called the "Business Development Body of Knowledge" and the online certification exam are free.
• When do I have to complete my BDP Certification? You must complete your BDP certification within 90 days.
• How long does the internship last? A minimum of 90 days. However, you may continue your internship until you graduate.
• What if I don't complete my certification within 90-days? No worries. We know stuff happens. As long as we see you're making progress, then we can make accommodations.
• Are the other GBDA certifications included? No. This internship only provides the BDP certification for free.
• How often do I have to collaborate on GBDA social media? GBDA posts content Monday - Friday on LinkedIn. We ask that you engage with the content daily (Like, Comment, and/or Repost) so you can learn more about Business Development and build your professional network.
• Can I list GBDA as my employer in my LinkedIn profile: Yes, we welcome our interns to list your internship on your LinkedIn profile, even after you graduate.
• Can I invite other students from my school to intern? Yes, you can invite any student from any school.
• I'm attending a 2-year Community College, can I participate? Yes. We welcome students from all colleges, universities, and community colleges.
• Where can I get a printed version of the BD-BOK? The BD-BOK is provided to you free in digital format within our learning portal. However, if you want to buy a copy, it's on Amazon in both Kindle and printed format.
• Can faculty access this program content? Yes. We welcome faculty at accredited universities to gain access to the BD-BOK and online exam so they may confidently refer their students to this program.
• My college requires a letter of acceptance, will you provide it? Yes, we provide an acceptance letter you can provide to your college administration.
• Is this only for undergraduate students? We prefer undergraduate students. However, we welcome graduate students too.
• How long does it take to complete the certification? The textbook BD-BOK is 300+ pages that may take an average reader about 15 hours to read. The online exam only tests the content from the BD-BOK and the exam is open book. Many people complete the exam in a few hours.
