MBA Growth & Network Lead (NYC)
Paid Summer Project | Potential to Continue

We’re looking for an exceptional MBA student in NYC to help us grow something early, ambitious, and meaningful.

About Icebreaker

Icebreaker (joinicebreaker.com) is a private networking platform built for MBA students and alumni, now spanning 250+ MBA programs globally.

We’re building what we believe is the future of professional relationship-building, helping ambitious people discover the right conversations, collaborators, opportunities, and career-defining relationships in a smarter, more human way.

We believe AI can fundamentally improve how people build trusted relationships and navigate their careers.

Our network already includes MBA students and alumni from schools like HBS, Stanford, Wharton, Kellogg, Booth, Columbia, MIT Sloan, Berkeley Haas, NYU Stern, Michigan Ross, Duke Fuqua, UCLA Anderson, USC Marshall, Yale SOM, Oxford Saïd, INSEAD, London Business School, and more.

Members come from companies including Google, Meta, Apple, Amazon, Microsoft, Netflix, NVIDIA, Disney, TikTok, Adobe, Nike, Airbnb, McKinsey, Bain, BCG, Deloitte, Bank of America, Goldman Sachs, JPMorgan, Blackstone, and tons of startups.

People are also using Icebreaker to explore startups, find collaborators, and connect around shared goals and interests.

Why This Role Exists

We’re looking for someone who wants meaningful ownership and the opportunity to help shape something early. This is a highly autonomous, project-based role for someone unusually strong at networking, relationship-building, creating opportunities, and making things happen.

We care far more about momentum and outcomes than meetings or ideas.

We are looking for someone who:
• Understands the vision
• Identifies opportunities and acts
• Builds relationships independently
• Opens doors and creates momentum
• Comes back with measurable progress, not just ideas

This role is especially well-suited for someone who genuinely loves people, loves connecting ambitious individuals, and naturally spends time making introductions, joining communities, and building relationships.

If you naturally know everyone, follow up relentlessly, and enjoy bringing the right people together, this is exactly the energy we’re looking for.

What You’ll Work On

Growth
Help drive member growth across MBA communities, clubs, student leaders, summer interns, and high-value networks.

Partnerships & Relationships
Build relationships with MBA connectors, student leaders, clubs, startups, founders, operators, and communities.

Community & Engagement
Help us better understand what makes people return, engage, and build habits inside the product.

Product Feedback
Gather user insights and identify opportunities to improve retention, engagement, and long-term value.

AI-Powered Execution
Leverage AI tools to personalize outreach, uncover opportunities, synthesize feedback, and move faster.

Who You Are

You might be a fit if you are:
• An MBA student based in the NYC area
• Highly connected or naturally excellent at building relationships
• Extremely proactive, resourceful, and high-agency
• Comfortable with outreach and turning conversations into opportunities
• Curious about startups, consumer products, growth, networking, or the future of careers
• Excited to use AI to scale your work
• Comfortable operating independently with limited structure
• Someone who naturally takes ownership, moves quickly, and follows through

Hustle, follow-through, urgency, and execution matter far more than pedigree.

What Makes Someone Successful Here

The right person for this role:
• Naturally creates momentum
• Sees opportunities and acts on them
• Loves meeting ambitious people
• Follows up relentlessly
• Turns conversations into partnerships and opportunities
• Is excited by ambiguity and building something from the ground floor

Role Details
• Paid, project-based summer role (roughly 10–15 hours/week)
• Starts as a trial engagement with potential to continue based on impact and mutual fit
• Opportunity to work directly with founders and meaningfully shape an early-stage company
• Strong potential for expanded responsibility and a larger role over time for someone who demonstrates exceptional ownership and results

Why This Is Different

This is not a traditional internship.

It’s an opportunity to help shape something early, build real relationships, have meaningful ownership, and materially move the needle in an ambitious, fast-moving environment.

If you llike building, love connecting people and believe you can create real momentum, we'd love to hear from you.
