Internship Description

Marathon Strategies, an independent communications, public affairs and research firm, is seeking a Creative Department Intern to assist in the design and production of visual content for our clients and our firm and provide video production support as needed. We’re looking for someone with a passion for developing strong visual concepts for paid, social, owned and digital media. You will support our creative team on client projects, internal marketing and new business proposals and have an opportunity to deliver award-winning collateral.


We want to work with someone that can see a big idea and make it leap from the page through smart art direction. Marathon’s internship program is a full-time 3-Month position aimed at equipping young college professionals with the skills needed to progress their careers. This position is based out of our NYC office and is hybrid with the availability to go into the office as needed to assist with design and video production. Candidates are required to work core hours of 9:00am – 6:00pm EST.


Responsibilities include:
• Assist Junior and Senior Designers with design asset development
• Design a variety of different types of communications collateral
• Develop share graphics, GIFs or banner ads
• Help with internal marketing projects like designing PowerPoints and reports
• Assist in motion graphic and type design for our video projects
• Provide in-office and onsite support of video production as needed
• Assist Video Department with finding stock images, videos and music
• Brainstorm and collaborate with creative and internal teams
• Juggle multiple projects while effectively managing timelines and expectations
• Work on new business concepts and proposals
• Assist with creative department file organization and back ups


Qualifications:
• Enrolled or recently graduated with a degree from a school focused on the visual arts, graphic design or advertising
• Digital portfolio that includes design promise and strong conceptual thinking
• Proficient in InDesign, Illustrator and Photoshop
• After Effects and Premiere are a plus
• familiarity with ai image and video generating software
• Understands the social media environment (Instagram, X, LinkedIn, and Facebook)
• An excellent communicator with good writing skills
• Responsible and organized with good time-management skills
• Ready to work both within a team and independently
• Detail-oriented
• Prepared to meet multiple deadlines in a fast-paced environment
• Eager to learn and help
