Internship Description

About Micro

Micro is building payment infrastructure to shift the internet away from subscriptions and toward paying only for what you use.

Instead of committing to $10–$30+ monthly subscriptions, Micro enables people to pay small amounts for individual uses. Whether that's reading an article, generating an AI image, making an API call, or using an online tool.

We're an early-stage startup building the infrastructure for a more flexible, usage-based internet.

About Micro Mondays
Micro Monday is a community, not just an event. Micro Mondays are recurring, free coworking and technology events bringing together founders, builders, developers, AI enthusiasts, and ambitious people.

We're not trying to create another networking event where people exchange LinkedIn profiles and never speak again. We want to build a genuine recurring community where people make friends, find cofounders, share ideas, meet customers, and help each other build.

We're now building Micro Monday communities across cities and are looking for someone to launch and grow Micro Monday in San Francisco.

The Role
As a Community & Events Organizer Intern, you'll own the San Francisco community from the ground up.

You'll:
• Organize a recurring Micro Monday in San Francisco
• Find and coordinate free or low-cost venues
• Create and manage events on Luma and other platforms
• Promote events through startup, AI, university, founder, coworking, Discord, WhatsApp, and local communities
• Reach out directly to founders, builders, developers, and potential attendees
• Build relationships with local communities and event organizers
• Welcome attendees and facilitate introductions
• Create an environment where people naturally connect and collaborate
• Gather feedback and experiment with new formats, partnerships, and growth strategies

The target is approximately 30–50 RSVPs per event, building toward a consistent community of 15–20+ weekly attendees.

This isn't a traditional event-planning internship. You'll have significant autonomy and will be expected to take ownership and make things happen.

• Outgoing and genuinely enjoys meeting people
• Interested in startups, technology, AI, or entrepreneurship
• Proactive and comfortable working independently
• Organized and reliable
• Comfortable reaching out through DMs, email, and communities

• Able to consistently organize and attend a recurring event

Bonus: Experience organizing events, running communities, building social media, working at a startup, or being involved in the SF startup/AI ecosystem.

What You'll Get
• 10 hours/week of hands-on experience building a startup community
• Ownership over the San Francisco Micro Monday
• Exposure to founders, investors, developers, and startup operators
• Experience across community, events, growth, marketing, and partnerships
• Direct access to the Micro founding team
• The opportunity to build a strong network in the SF startup ecosystem
• Potential to grow into a larger role as Micro expands
