Internship Description

Company Description

OMWP Photography LLC specializes in the preservation and curation of analog technology. We provide enthusiasts and collectors with high-quality vintage electronics while simultaneously operating as a community-centric art studio. Through our workshop branch, OMWP Studios, we facilitate hands-on creative experiences—most notably our signature collage sessions—that foster social connection and artistic expression in diverse spaces across Chicago. Our mission is to keep the "human touch" alive in a digital world through curated hardware and collaborative art

Role Overview

Marketing & Brand Strategy Intern (Unpaid / For Credit or experience, resume building)
Company: OMWP Photography LLC / OMWP Studios
Location: Chicago, IL (Hybrid / Remote)
Duration: [Semester-based / Flexible]

Are you a marketing student tired of just reading case studies? OMWP Photography LLC is looking for a creative powerhouse to help take our brand from a local gem to a digital standout. This isn't a "get us coffee" internship—this is a "help us build a brand" internship.

You will work directly with the founder to apply classroom theories to a real-world business that blends vintage electronics retail with community-focused art workshops. We are looking for someone who understands the "analog aesthetic" and knows how to translate it into modern digital growth.

Key Responsibilities

• Social Media Management & Strategy: Own the OMWP content calendar. You will be responsible for scheduling posts and maintaining a consistent, high-energy presence across Instagram and TikTok.

• Copywriting & Voice: Craft clever, compelling, and brand-aligned captions that speak to both tech collectors and local artists.

• Multimedia Content Creation:
• Produce short-form video (Reels/TikToks) documenting the "behind-the-scenes" of workshop prep and vintage gear testing.
• Design digital ads, stories, and feed posts using Canva or the Adobe Creative Suite.

• Brand Identity Building: Collaborate on refining our visual language and "vibe" to ensure a cohesive identity across all platforms.

• Campaign Execution: Develop and execute digital "blitzes" to promote upcoming collage workshops and drive ticket sales.

• Market Research & Analytics:
• Analyze trends in the vintage tech and DIY workshop space to keep OMWP ahead of the curve.
• Track monthly engagement metrics to report on what content is actually resonating with our audience.

• Email Marketing: Assist in designing and drafting our community newsletter to keep our workshop alumni and customers engaged.

Qualifications

• Currently enrolled in a University program (Marketing, Communications, Graphic Design, or a related field).

• A strong eye for aesthetics—you understand why film grain and vintage textures matter to our brand.

• Exceptional writing skills with the ability to balance professionalism with a touch of wit.

• Self-motivated and comfortable working in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial environment.

What’s In It For You?

• Academic Credit: We will work closely with your university’s internship coordinator to ensure this role meets all requirements for course credit.

• Portfolio Building: You will leave this role with a massive portfolio of live ads, social media campaigns, and measurable growth data.

• Mentorship: Gain direct experience in how a multidisciplinary business operates, from inventory sourcing to social impact event planning.

• Creative Freedom: Your ideas won't just be heard; they’ll be tested. You’ll have a "sandbox" to experiment with new marketing tools and styles.
