Internship Description

Internship Opportunities – Marketing, HR, General Business - Summer and Fall
2026
Location: On-site, Roanoke, VA
Time Commitment: Minimum 12-15 hours/week
Duration: Flexible (semester-based preferred)
Compensation: For Academic Credit Only (but the experience is very much “paid in
real-world reps”)

The Not-So-Boring Summary
If you’re looking for an internship where you mostly watch meetings happen, nod
thoughtfully, and perfect the art of “per my last email,” this is not that.

These internships are hands-on, high-exposure, skill-building roles designed to give you
experience that’s often hard to find in traditional intern programs. You’ll work directly
with a team that lets interns do real work—the kind you can confidently talk about in
interviews without pretending you “led a cross-functional initiative” that was really a
group project.

We’ve hosted interns from Roanoke College, Virginia Tech, James Madison
University, Hollins University, and many more—so yes, you’ll be in good company.
We know how to make it work your time!

Internship Tracks (Choose Your Adventure)
1) Marketing Interns
 Support content creation for social media, email, and digital platforms
 Help plan and execute marketing campaigns (yes, real campaigns)
 Conduct market research and competitive analysis
 Assist with brand messaging, promotional materials, and event support
 Track results and learn what actually moves the needle (not just what looks
pretty)

2) Human Resources Interns
 Support recruiting tasks (job postings, screening coordination, candidate
communication)
 Help improve onboarding and internal documentation
 Assist with employee engagement and culture initiatives
 Learn HR operations and best practices in real time
 Support general HR administrative workflows (the important kind, not the
“busywork for busywork’s sake” kind)

3) General Business Interns
 Assist with business operations and internal projects
 Create and update spreadsheets, reports, and workflow documentation
 Support client coordination, scheduling, and process improvement
 Help with research and analysis for business decisions
 Jump into cross-functional projects as needed—because business rarely stays in
one lane

What You’ll Gain (The Real Reason This Is Worth It)
 Hands-on experience you can actually explain in an interview
 Mentorship and direct exposure to real business priorities
 Professional skill development: communication, project management, execution
 Portfolio-worthy work (especially in Marketing and Business)
 A chance to build confidence in a fast-moving, real-world environment

Important note: These roles are for academic credit, but the goal is clear: meaningful
experience, real responsibilities, and measurable outcomes—not coffee runs and copy-
paste tasks.
