Role Description
Pedestal is curating BASECAMP Collective, a three-week pop-up gallery at Market Station in Downtown Denver, for the second year running. We're looking for a Gallery Host to help install the exhibition and independently manage the gallery across all three exhibition weekends.The Gallery Management Intern role is an on-site internship based in Downtown Denver. This intern will assist with daily gallery operations, including welcoming guests, discussing the art on display, handling sales and coordinating shipping/delivery. Responsibilities may include supporting installations and managing artwork labeling and documentation. This role is designed to provide hands-on experience in gallery management, art consulting, and marketplace operations.
Qualifications
• Strong organizational and time-management skills to handle multiple tasks, maintain accurate records, and keep the gallery space orderly.
• Attention to detail and basic administrative abilities, including data entry, document management, and careful handling of artworks.
• Effective communication and interpersonal skills to interact professionally with clients, artists, and team members.
• Interest in visual arts, design, or architecture, with a willingness to learn about art consulting and gallery operations.
• Ability to work on-site in Denver, CO, reliably adhere to scheduled hours and assist with events.
• Previous coursework or experience in art, art history, design, or related fields is beneficial but not required.
• Capacity to lift and safely move artworks as needed, following provided guidance and safety practices.
Compensation
The Intern will receive an $800 stipend as compensation for their time, paid in full at the conclusion of the internship.
