TalentBase is a veteran workforce integration initiative aimed at connecting employers, educational institutions, and workforce programs to empower veterans, military spouses, and dependents. By translating military training and experience into recognized credentials and work-based learning opportunities, TalentBase ensures career alignment with regional workforce demands. The organization’s mission is to strengthen workforce alignment while enabling successful workforce integration for veterans. Through professional development, certifications, and work experience, TalentBase creates a more efficient and connected workforce ecosystem.
Program Description
Veterans CareerBridge is a grant-funded, employer-connected professional development program designed to help veterans and student veterans transition into high-demand civilian careers across Kern County, California.
This is not a traditional job opening. It is a structured career readiness program that includes professional development training, employer interviews, and the opportunity to earn a paid internship with one of our employer partners. While many participants convert into full-time roles, internships and employment offers are competitive and not guaranteed.
Program Structure and Cohort Dates
Participants move through a three-phase pathway:
Phase 1: Career Readiness Training (2 weeks)
• Evening virtual sessions (Monday–Friday, approx. 2 hours per night)
• Resume and LinkedIn optimization
• Interview preparation (STAR method)
• Employer panels and networking
• Professional communication and workplace readiness
Upcoming Cohort Dates:
• March 9 – March 20, 2026 (Phase 1 training)
Phase 2: Employer Matching & Interviews (2 weeks)
• Coordinated interviews with vetted employer partners throughout Kern County
• Interview scheduling and support provided by the program team
Phase 3: Paid Internship (8–12 weeks)
• Full-time, paid internship with a matched employer
• Hands-on experience in a high-demand role
• Ongoing check-ins and career coaching
• Goal: position participants for full-time employment
Who This Program is For
Veterans CareerBridge is open to individuals who are seeking a structured, employer-connected pathway into high-demand civilian careers, including:
• Post-9/11 veterans (honorably discharged if separated)
• Active duty or drilling service members
• Military spouses
• Military dependents between the ages of 18–24
• Student veterans or dependents in their final term or recent graduates
Participants should be interested in career pathways within industries such as:
• Aerospace & Defense
• Advanced Manufacturing
• Logistics & Supply Chain
• Energy & Infrastructure
Qualifications
• High school diploma (minimum requirement)
• Associate’s, Bachelor’s, Graduate degree, or industry-recognized certificate preferred (We also have certification opportunities)
• Ability to commit to all program phases
• Reliable transportation or willingness to relocate for internship placement
• Professional readiness for full-time internship participation
