Role Description:
The Wayfarer Harvest Internship is an on-site role based in Healdsburg, CA, supporting the vineyard and winery team throughout the harvest season. Interns will assist with daily grape processing, including sorting, destemming, pressing, and cleaning and sanitizing equipment and work areas. Responsibilities may include performing pump-overs, punch-downs, racking, additions, basic lab work, and accurate recordkeeping. The role involves outdoor vineyard tasks such as sampling, quality checks, and helping with harvest logistics as needed. This internship requires flexibility with schedules, including early mornings, evenings, weekends, and extended hours during peak harvest periods, and offers direct mentorship and hands-on training in a fast-paced production environment.
Qualifications
• Interest in viticulture, enology, or wine production, with a desire to learn hands-on harvest practices.
• Ability to perform physical tasks, including lifting up to 50 lbs, standing for extended periods, and working in varying weather conditions.
• Strong attention to detail, reliability, and willingness to follow safety and sanitation procedures.
• Effective communication skills and a collaborative mindset to work closely with a small production team.
• Basic math and organizational skills for measurements, recordkeeping, and following written instructions.
• Previous winery, vineyard, or agricultural experience is helpful but not required; coursework in enology, viticulture, or related fields is a plus.
• Eligibility to work in the United States and reliable transportation to the Healdsburg, CA site.
