Summary:
WLFC is committed to supplementing students’ educational curriculum by engaging interns in “real-life” work experience. With a desire to build a career in Aviation Law, our ideal candidate is eager to learn, adaptable, and possesses excellent communication and organizational skills. This intern will assist our Legal department and fulfil tasks as assigned. This internship will provide valuable exposure to various aviation legal matters, including support for corporate counsel, contract review and drafting, legal research, compliance, and other legal-related tasks.
Responsibilities:
• Assist legal department with drafting, reviewing, and organizing equipment leases, purchase and sales agreements, repair agreements, and other aviation-related contracts.
• Support compliance reviews to help ensure contracts align with legal and risk management policies.
• Support coordination with outside counsel by organizing documentation and assisting with information requests related to contracts and transactions.
• Assist with legal research related to applicable federal, state, and local laws, regulations, and aviation-specific requirements.
• Assist with tracking regulatory and compliance requirements related to aviation and commercial contracts.
• Collaborate with team members to brainstorm ideas and contribute to ongoing projects.
• Other duties as required.
Qualifications / Requirements:
• Must be at least 18 years old.
• Must have successfully completed at least the first year of law school (1L) or be a current law student in good academic standing beyond the first year.
• Must have a minimum of a 3.0 overall grade point average (GPA).
• Currently pursuing a Juris Doctorate degree.
• Must demonstrate strong interpersonal skills, ability to multitask, outstanding communication skills, and punctuality.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
• Ability to handle confidential information with integrity and professionalism and consent to signature of a nondisclosure agreement.
