Internship Description

The Administrative Assistant Intern will provide vital support to WUSA’s daily operations, gaining hands-on experience in administrative processes, office management, and professional correspondence. This internship offers an excellent opportunity to develop organizational and communication skills in a dynamic nonprofit environment. The ideal candidate will exhibit high standards, excellent communication skills, and have an ability to take initiative, and prioritize daily tasks. A strong ability to take charge and meet tight deadlines will ensure your success in this multi-faceted role. 


Responsibilities
• Handle and coordinate active calendars
• Schedule and confirm meetings
• Ensure file organization based on office protocol
• Provide ad hoc support around office as needed
• Perform general administrative duties, including answering phones, managing emails, and scheduling appointments.
• Maintain organized records of documents, reports, and meeting minutes.
• Assist with data entry, filing, and updating spreadsheets.
• Coordinate and prepare materials for meetings, workshops, and events.
• Monitor office supplies and maintain inventory.
• Support the CEO and team by managing calendars and ensuring timely follow-ups on tasks.
• Conduct research and compile information for various projects as needed.
• Provide exceptional customer service to visitors and stakeholders.


Qualifications
• Strong interpersonal, customer service, and communication skills
• Ability to multitask
• Proficient in Google Workspace
• Strong interest in office administration and nonprofit operations.


Job Type: Part-Time, Internship
Schedule: Flexible hours with a mix of remote and on-site opportunities.
Education: High School diploma or GED equivalent required. Current enrollment in a higher education institution is preferred.
Experience: Entry-level experience is not required. Willingness to learn.
Pay: Nonpaid internship, $200 stipend at the beginning of your internship, course credit (if school allows). If you meet the UTSA RowdyCorps or Alamo Colleges District internship requirements and complete the necessary paperwork, you may be eligible to receive payment from the school while interning with WUSA.
