About the Opportunity
golden eyes project is seeking multiple interns to support the development of our communications, outreach & relationship-building capacity as we move toward initial implementation of our child-empowering initiatives.
Rather than expecting one intern to work across every area below, selected interns will be given a primary concentration based on their experience, interests, career goals & gep’s current needs.
Potential areas of focus may include:
1.Partnerships & Communications
Researching and building relationships with potential sponsors, brand partners, media contacts & mission-aligned organizations.
2.Creator Relations
Supporting outreach, onboarding & ongoing relationships with artists, designers and other Contributing Creators who support gep’s mission.
3.Community Outreach
Building relationships with schools, nonprofits, youth organizations & other trusted community partners that may help connect children with gep Magazine, Plot Twist and future initiatives.
4.Advisory & Professional Relations
Researching and connecting with professionals, specialists & potential advisors who can strengthen gep’s initiatives, advisory network and editorial platforms.
5.Social Media & Engagement
Helping develop gep’s social presence through storytelling, content development, engagement strategies and mission-aligned campaigns.
6.Writing, Publishing & Editorial Support
Researching, writing, editing and preparing public-facing content, journal articles, initiative materials and other organizational communications.
What We’re Looking For
Applicants are not required to have experience in each of these areas. We are especially interested in learning where your strengths, interests & professional goals may best align with gep’s current work. When applying, please tell us which area(s) of focus most interest you.
We’re looking for a thoughtful, creative communicator with strong writing & research skills. Students studying communications, marketing, journalism, public relations, nonprofit management, art/design or related fields are encouraged to apply.
Internship Schedule
We plan to collect applications through September 15th. Afterwards, we’ll reach out to applicants whose interests & experience may align with our available internship opportunities.
Internship onboarding is anticipated for October 1 with three-month terms. Start & end dates are flexible and may be adjusted to accommodate the intern’s academic calendar, professional goals or other applicable requirements. Opportunities to extend the internship may also be available by mutual agreement.
Compensation
This internship is currently unpaid. gep is actively pursuing capacity-building funding that may allow us to offer paid internship opportunities in the future; however, compensation during the internship cannot be guaranteed.
For students seeking academic credit, gep will work with their college or university to structure the internship around applicable academic requirements, learning objectives & documentation needed for credit.
