Qualifications
• Master’s Degree or Ed. Specialist in School Psychology
• Full approval as a Michigan School Psychologist, internship candidates may be considered
Essential Duties
• Strong background in special education evaluation and diagnostic decision-making
• Experience with or willingness to be trained in threat and risk assessment protocols
• Serve as a full-time School Psychologist with an emphasis on supporting students receiving special education services
• Conduct comprehensive psychoeducational evaluations to determine eligibility under the Individuals with Disabilities Education Act, including cognitive, academic, behavioral, and functional assessments
• May participate in Section 504 evaluations as needed
• Lead or support functional behavioral assessments and collaborate with staff on behavior intervention plan development and monitoring
• Serve as a trained member of the building Threat and Risk Assessment Team, supporting documentation, evaluation of safety concerns, and coordinated intervention planning
• Lead Manifestation Determination Reviews for students with disabilities, ensuring accurate documentation, legal compliance, and clear communication with families and staff
• Provide consultation to teachers, case managers, and related service providers regarding behavioral supports, progress monitoring, and specially designed instruction
• Support short-term student skill-building related to self-regulation, coping, and problem-solving
• Participate in crisis response and assist with student re-entry planning
• Collaborate effectively with students, families, counselors, social workers, administrators, and outside providers
• Maintain accurate, confidential records and documentation in alignment with legal and ethical requirements
• Training in nonviolent crisis intervention preferred or willingness to be trained
• Other duties as assigned
Position Assignment Information
• This position is being hired for the Student Support Services Department
• Placement will begin at Clarkston High School and Renaissance High School (Alternative Ed Building) for the remainder of the 2025/2026 school year.
• Placement for the 2026/2027 school year will be determined in Spring 2026 based on district needs.
Salary
Appropriate placement on the current Teacher's Master Agreement.
