The Packaging Engineering Intern will support the Packaging Engineering and Product Quality teams in the evaluation, testing, and documentation of foodservice packaging products. This internship is hands-on and data-driven, involving physical sample testing, specification review, and cross-functional collaboration to ensure packaging meets performance, quality, and operational requirements.
This Internship has a target start date in May and a target end date in August.
Work Location & Schedule:
This is a hybrid position that requires 3 days/week onsite in our Exton, PA location (Monday, Tuesday, and Thursday). The work schedule for this position is Monday through Friday from 8:00am - 5:00pm.
How you will make an impact during this Internship:
• Support the integration and centralization of product and packaging specifications within SpecRight system, including loading, validating, and aligning specification data across systems to drive improved efficiency, visibility, and integrated operations.
• Uploading and auditing specifications, supporting linkage between PimeCore, S2K and other identified systems.
• Perform and document fit, closure, and visual inspections for samples
• Identify inconsistencies and flag issues proactively within large data sets

Requirements
What you will need to qualify for ACR's Internship Program:
• Currently enrolled in a 4-year degree at an accredited college or university
• Authorized to work in the United States
• Availability to meet both the work location and work schedule requirements
What you will need to be successful in this Internship:
• Currently pursuing a Bachelor's degree in Packaging Engineering, Materials Science, or related degree track
• Currently a rising Junior or Senior
• Fundamental understanding of packaging materials (paperboard, corrugated, plastics, molded fiber)
• Must be comfortable working in a warehouse environment
• Ability to read and understand basic dimensions, drawings, and specifications
• Comfortable working in Excel (sorting data, basic formulas, organizing large datasets)
• Comfortable working with physical samples and lab testing
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks
Preferred experience:
• Prior internship, co-op, or project experience related to:
• Packaging design or testing
• Quality assurance or manufacturing
• Experience with any of the following software / tools:
• TOPS, CAPE, ArtoisCAD, SpecRight, ASANA, PLM Systems
