Job Description

RESOURCE SPECIALIST TIER I The Arrowhead Area Agency on Aging (AAAA), a division of Arrowhead Regional Development Commission (ARDC), seeks a full-time, (40 hours/week), Minnesota Aging Pathways Resource Specialist Tier I to provide information and assistance to help older Minnesotans and their families make informed decisions about their options, Medicare, and health care benefits primarily through taking inbound calls. Minimum Requirements: Education/Experience: Bachelor s degree from an accredited college or university in a human services-related field, such as social work, nursing, public administration or gerontology and one-year of professional or internship experience working with older adults; OR Two-year certificate or degree in a human services-related field or a community health certificate with three-years of experience working with older adults; OR Five years of relevant professional experience in care coordination and case management at a nursing facility, assisted living, hospital, home care or lead agency. Knowledge and skills: Experience with client interviewing and conducting person-centered assessments. Well-developed interpersonal communication, customer service and problem-solving skills. Intervention and de-escalation skills. Knowledge of community resources, public assistance programs and a basic understanding of Medicare. Ability to use professional judgement to work independently. Excellent time management. Computer proficiency. Hours: 40 hours/week, M-F, day position. Location: Employees could be located in any of the seven NE MN Counties (Aitkin, Carlton, Cook, Itasca, Koochiching, Lake, St. Louis) or WI (Douglas County). There are three work options: work in the Duluth office, a hybrid model meaning partial work in the Duluth office and partial work from home, or fully remote. When working offsite, employees must meet specific internet criteria including demonstrated high speed connect ability and the ability to meet privacy and security standards with secure (password protected) internet and demonstrate successful performance.
