What will I be doing?
As an Oak Ridge Institute for Science and Education (ORISE) participant, you will join a community of scientists and researchers in an effort to support the integration of a Clinical Decision Support (CDS) library into the Bios medical documentation platform, a critical tool for U.S. Air Force Aeromedical Evacuation (AE) medical crews. The goal of the project is to embed interactive software algorithms, derived from Aeromedical Evacuation Clinical Protocols (AECPs), directly into the provider's workflow to reduce cognitive load and improve patient safety in demanding environments.

• Participate in direct integration of the CDS library into the Bios platform
• Gain applied experience in software validation, ensuring CDS features are successfully and reliably incorporated into the final tool used by medics
• Learn from engineering and clinical teams about the critical research and mission support activities conducted at AFRL
