About The Role
As an Accounting Intern, you’ll gain hands-on experience supporting the financial operations behind large-scale asphalt production and paving projects. You’ll work closely with our Accounting Team on day-to-day processes and special projects that directly impact job costing, reporting accuracy, and operational efficiency.
This internship is designed for students looking to apply their accounting coursework in a real-world construction environment while gaining exposure to how accounting supports field operations, plants, and project teams.
What You’ll Be Doing
• Assist with general accounting and administrative support
• Help track materials, quantities, and costs tied to active construction projects
• Support account reconciliations and verify data accuracy
• Assist with cash reporting and internal financial documentation
• Organize and maintain accounting records and supporting documentation
• Participate in special accounting and finance-related projects
• Collaborate with team members across accounting and operations
• Gain exposure to construction accounting processes and systems
• Learn how financial data supports decision-making in both office and field settings
Internship Schedule
• May–August summer internship
• Full-time, in-person position
• 5 days per week, 8 hours per day
• Based out of our Thornton, IL office
