Job Overview:
The Project Management Intern will support project management and engineering activities, assisting in the successful execution of multiple projects while gaining valuable hands‑on experience in a fast‑paced environment. This role is ideal for students or recent graduates seeking to build foundational skills in project engineering and project coordination. This internship is a part-time, paid position (20 hours per week) with a maximum duration of 90 days.
Key Responsibilities:
Project Planning and Coordination
• Assist in planning, coordinating, and managing project activities from inception to completion
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including design, procurement, and construction, to ensure project goals are met
• Prepare, update, and maintain project schedules, budgets, and documentation
• Support the preparation of technical reports, presentations, and project proposals
• Assist in troubleshooting and resolving technical issues that arise during project execution
• Communicate effectively with stakeholders, including clients, team members, and vendors, to ensure alignment on project objectives
• Help ensure compliance with safety, environmental, and regulatory standards
• Participate in site visits to monitor progress, verify quality standards, and identify risks or issues
• Assist in managing a portfolio of projects in various stages of execution
Project Documentation & Deliverables
• Document project information using MS Excel and other record‑keeping platforms
• Prepare Operation and Maintenance (O&M) manuals using established templates
• Assist in preparing project binders and closeout documentation
• Support the development of automated project management tools for time and cost tracking
• Assist in preparing packing slips for project freight documentation.
Project Delivery and Evaluation
• Support efforts to ensure all project deliverables meet scope, quality, and timeline requirements
• Monitor and track project progress, recommending adjustments as needed
• Participate in post-project evaluations to identify‑project evaluations to identify successes, challenges, and improvement opportunities
Process Improvement
• Contribute to continuous improvement of project management processes and tools
• Recommend and help implement best practices to enhance efficiency and performance
Qualifications:
• Pursuing or recently completed bachelor's degree in mechanical, Civil, Industrial, or Construction Engineering (or related field)
• Ability to read and understand mechanical drawings
• Strong analytical and problem-solving‑solving skills
• Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel; familiarity with Word and PowerPoint
• Ability to understand basic calculations such as price schedule breakdowns
• Ability to multitask and manage time effectively in a fast-paced‑paced environment
