Position Summary
Career Readiness Learning Objectives:
Communication: The student worker will assist the the Advancement, Marketing, and Admissions team and develop effective verbal and written communication skills.
Teamwork: The student worker will function as a member of the Erie Catholic School team. The student worker will collaborate with the team to support Advancement, Marketing, and Admissions functions.
• This is an off-campus work-study position only eligible to students who have filed a FAFSA and have an unmet financial need. Student workers are considered employees of Gannon and are paid by the University.
The Erie Catholic School System ( ECSS ) is seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Administrative Student Intern to support our Advancement, Marketing, and Admissions functions. This internship provides hands-on experience in a mission-driven educational environment and is ideal for a Gannon University student interested in nonprofit administration, communications, marketing, or higher education administration. The schedule is flexible to accommodate academic commitments
Summary Of Essential Job Functions
Advancement & Development
• Assist with donor database maintenance, data entry, and record accuracy
• Support preparation of fundraising materials, mailings, and acknowledgements
• Help coordinate advancement events and stewardship activities
• Conduct basic research on donors, grants, and sponsorship opportunities
Marketing & Communications
• Support content creation for newsletters, social media, website updates, and marketing collateral
• Assist with photography, copy editing, and proofreading as needed
• Help track marketing metrics and organize digital assets
• Support branding and promotional initiatives across ECSS schools
Admissions Support
• Assist with inquiry management, application processing, and document organization
• Support admissions events (open houses, school visits, recruitment activities)
• Help prepare enrollment reports and maintain admissions databases
• Provide general administrative support to the admissions team
Administrative Support
• Perform general office tasks including scheduling, filing, and correspondence
• Collaborate with VP staff on special projects as assigned
• Maintain confidentiality and professionalism when handling sensitive information
Requirements
• Currently enrolled as an undergraduate or graduate student at Gannon University
• Interest in advancement, marketing, communications, admissions, or nonprofit administration
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office; familiarity with social media platforms a plus
• Highly organized, detail-oriented, and able to manage multiple tasks
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment
Required Qualifications
• Candidates for this position must qualify for Federal Work Study to be eligible.
• The Financial Aid Office will determine your eligibility when you apply for this job posting.
• Candidates must provide their transportation to/from the work site.
• Ability to pass the Penn State Police Criminal Record, Child Abuse History, and FBI fingerprint clearances.
• Possess a valid PA state driver’s license
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office products and using databases

Physical Demands
