The Achievement Centers for Children’s Therapeutic Horsemanship Program located at Camp Cheerful is currently accepting applications for interns & barn staff for the Summer 2026 camp season!
Responsibilities Include
• Teach safe, educational & fun equine assisted activities for campers
• Create and implement horse related art & craft projects
• Interact with individuals with special needs to provide a positive experience
• Interact and work with volunteers of all ages
• Sidewalk in Adapted Riding classes
• Lead horses in Adapted Riding classes
• Assist PATH Certified Instructors with classes
• Bring horses in and out of pastures
• Provide daily care of assigned horses including feed, water, grooming and wellness checks
• General barn up keep and maintenance Interns & barn staff will gain experience working with individuals with physical, emotional and developmental disabilities through equine assisted activities and adapted riding lessons.
This is a paid internship that takes place at Camp Cheerful 15000 Cheerful Lane, Strongsville, OH 44136. This is a 25-30 hour per week commitment from June 1 - August 14, 2026. On site housing may be available if needed. Experience with horses and/or individuals with special needs preferred.
