We are seeking a Technical Service Chemist Co-Op / Intern to support our Research & Development team at our Elmendorf or Liberty, Texas locations.
This opportunity is designed for students seeking either a co-op or internship experience and offers hands-on laboratory exposure to surfactant chemistry, formulation development, and product performance testing in a specialty chemicals environment.What you’ll do:• Support technical service and application projects focused on surfactants and surface science
• Conduct laboratory testing to evaluate product performance across Household, Personal Care, and Energy applications
• Prepare prototype formulations to support customer and internal technical needs
• Learn and apply foundational knowledge of Verdant’s products and end-use applications
• Participate in technical meetings and contribute to project discussions
• Draft project updates and technical summaries for internal stakeholders
• Prepare and deliver a final technical presentation to R&D and commercial teams
• Support laboratory organization, documentation, and inventory management
• Order laboratory supplies and communicate material needs as required
• Ensure compliance with safety protocols, PPE requirements, and laboratory standards
What we’re looking for:• Currently pursuing a STEM degree in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, Biology, Physics, or a related field
• Sophomore or junior standing enrolled in an accredited co-op or internship program
• Completion of coursework in organic chemistry
• Minimum GPA of 3.0 or higher
• Strong interest in laboratory work, formulation chemistry, and product development
• Previous internship or co-op experience preferred
• Ability to work on-site in a laboratory and manufacturing environment
