Job Purpose
The PJ Boatwright Internship was created by the United States Golf Association to provide an opportunity and education to individuals interested in seeking a career in golf administration. The internship is 6 months, and the intern will have an opportunity to work with all departments as part of the internship.
AZ GOLF is seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Data and Technology Intern to support our data-driven initiatives and technology solutions. This internship offers hands-on experience with member data, CRM management, event support, and technology-driven marketing and engagement efforts. The ideal candidate is analytical, tech-savvy, and eager to contribute to enhancing member experiences and supporting organizational growth.
Duties And Responsibilities
Data Analytics
• Utilize Hubspot Data and Member Behaviors to analyze trends, provide heat mapping, and reporting that will help to guide decision making.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify opportunities for technology and process improvements.
Database Enrichment
• Utilize Hubspot tools to enrich member profiles to provide more accurate segmentation of the membership.
Automations
• Work with Member Services & Marketing & Communications teams to build/rebuild Hubspot Workflows to engage specific target markets (i.e. Members without an established Handicap Index).
Member Outreach & Engagement Events
• Provide preliminary support, onsite activation, and post-event follow-up for member services outreach and engagement events.
Department Support
• Assist other departments and learn other aspects of the business
• USGA Services: World Handicap System, assist course rating teams and data input for course and slope ratings
• Marketing and Communications: Assist with website integration
• Stakeholder Relations: Update membership and course directory
Skills And Qualifications
• Golf knowledge and background preferred.
• Education or Experience with technology preferred
• Experience with CRM platforms, mainly HubSpot, preferred.
• Experience with data analysis and strategy preferred.
• Experience with Microsoft Office is required.
• Live in Phoenix Metro local area throughout the duration of internship.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to work in team environment.
Working Conditions
• This job operates in a professional office environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets and fax machines.
• Valid driver’s license required. Willingness to travel and ability to drive company vehicles to tournaments.
• Willingness and ability to work early mornings and weekends and work 40+ hours per week as required.
