POSITION SUMMARY

The Marketing & Data Operations Intern will play a meaningful role in strengthening the infrastructure that connects donors to the causes they care about most. This position centers on a high-impact data and content project: auditing CFSW's fund records for accuracy and helping develop richer, more compelling fund descriptions for our online donation platform.

This is an ideal opportunity for a motivated student or recent graduate interested in nonprofit operations, digital content, and donor engagement — and who wants to contribute real, lasting work to a community-serving organization.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

FUND DATA AUDIT & CLASSIFICATION (Primary — 60-70%)

CFSW manages over 900 component funds serving communities across nine counties in Southern Wisconsin. Accurate fund classification is essential for connecting donors to the right opportunities and for powering CFSW's internal reporting and filtering tools.

- Review fund contract details in CFSW's CRM system to verify each fund's grant type classification
- Cross-reference fund purpose language against established classification criteria
- Flag discrepancies and correct labels in coordination with the Director of Marketing & Communications
- Maintain an organized tracking log of reviewed, updated, and pending funds
- Develop a working familiarity with CFSW's fund types, including donor advised funds, field of interest funds, designated funds, and scholarship funds

FUND SUMMARY & DONATION PAGE CONTENT (Secondary — 20-25%)

Following the fund audit, the intern will assist in developing expanded, engaging fund summaries for CFSW's online donation pages. Current descriptions are brief and functional; this project will bring them to life with more context, impact language, and visual formatting.

- Draft expanded fund summaries using AI-assisted writing tools, guided by fund contract purpose language and CFSW brand voice
- Format summaries for use on CFSW's donation platform, incorporating color, structure, and visual hierarchy
- Ensure consistency in tone, length, and formatting across all fund pages
- Review drafts with Director of Marketing & Communications before submission

MARKETING SUPPORT (Supplemental — 10-15%)

- Assist with social media content scheduling and light content drafting
- Support design requests using Canva for social graphics, event materials, or templates
- Provide general administrative and project support for the Marketing & Communications team as capacity allows
