Marketing and Event Management Intern
Unpaid Summer Internship
Location: Atlanta, GA / Hybrid with some in-person events
Hours: Part-time,  10-15 hours per week
Duration: Summer internship, approximately 8-12 weeks
Compensation: Unpaid; academic credit may be available depending on the student’s school requirements

Position Overview
We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Marketing and Event Management Intern to support our summer events, member communications, social media, outreach, and event planning. This unpaid internship is designed to provide hands-on learning experience in marketing, event coordination, community engagement, and nonprofit/social venture operations within a faith-driven environment.


Key Responsibilities
Event Management
• Assist with planning and organizing in-person and virtual events, including networking socials, brunches, workshops, volunteer events, and community gatherings.
• Help coordinate event logistics, including registration lists, attendee communication, event materials, setup, check-in, and follow-up.
• Maintain event calendars and help track deadlines, vendor needs, speaker details, and event tasks.
• Provide on-site or virtual event support, including setup, registration, guest assistance, and post-event cleanup or follow-up.
Marketing and Communications
• Assist with creating and organizing promotional materials for events, membership, sponsorships, and volunteer opportunities.
• Support social media content planning, captions, graphics coordination, and scheduling.
• Help update website event information, email campaigns, and member communications as needed.
• Assist with drafting simple, warm, and mission-aligned emails for event promotion and follow-up.
• Track marketing efforts and help report on event registrations, attendance, engagement, and outreach results.
Community and Administrative Support
• Help maintain contact lists, event registration lists, and basic spreadsheets.
• Research potential partners, sponsors, speakers, venues, and community organizations.
• Support team meetings by preparing notes, tracking action items, and following up on assigned tasks.
• Collaborate with the team to make sure projects are organized, clear, and completed on time.


Qualifications
• Currently pursuing or recently completed a degree in Marketing, Communications, Business, Event Management, Nonprofit Management, or a related field.
• Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage several tasks at once.
• Good written and verbal communication skills.
• Comfortable using Microsoft Office, Google Workspace, Canva, social media platforms, and basic event or email tools.
• Detail-oriented, dependable, self-motivated, and willing to learn.
• Able to work independently while also receiving feedback and collaborating with a team.
• Interest in faith-based community building, professional networking, events, marketing, and service.
• Previous experience with events, marketing, social media, customer service, or volunteer work is helpful but not required.

This is an unpaid summer internship created for educational and professional development purposes. If the intern is seeking academic credit, CPNW will work with the student and their institution to provide needed documentation when possible.
