Internship Description

Akris is looking for a Public Relations Intern to join our team for fall 2026. This is a valuable opportunity to gain immersive, hands-on experience within a prestigious luxury fashion house, supporting the PR team across key areas including media monitoring, sample management, influencer relations, and event coordination.


The internship will take place onsite at our New York City office, three days per week from early September through December 2026. This is an unpaid position offered for school credit.


Key Responsibilities:
Media Monitoring & Reporting
• Pull daily press clips featuring the brand (print, online, and social)
• Track media mentions using Launchmetrics, Cision, or Google Alerts
• Compile weekly coverage reports with visuals and key highlights
Sample Management
• Log all incoming and outgoing samples in the tracking system
• Photograph samples prior to shipment for internal records
• Coordinate courier pickups and returns for stylists and editors
Influencer & VIP Dressing Support
• Research influencers, VIPs, and stylists for upcoming activations and events
• Assist with pull requests including packing, labeling, and garment bag preparation
• Maintain updated spreadsheets of VIP brand appearances
Event Support
• Compile and manage RSVP lists; confirm attendance for press and VIP events
• Prepare materials for events (press kits, seating cards, gift bags)
• Provide on-site support during press days and events
Editorial & Influencer Research
• Track competitor PR placements for industry and market analysis
Social Media & Digital Archiving
• Organize an internal archive of press hits and VIP images for digital use
• Track influencer posts and compile metrics on coverage
Showroom & Office Upkeep
• Ensure showroom and stockroom are clean, merchandised, and organized
• Steam and prepare seasonal samples; facilitate timely returns
• Maintain updated press boards and wall calendars
• Restock essential PR supplies (lookbooks, garment bags, stationery, etc.)
Special Projects
• Monitor daily fashion news and media trends
• Assist in analyzing seasonal Fashion Week trends
• Maintain a calendar of VIP events and awards shows
Qualifications:
• Previous internship or experience in PR, fashion, or communications preferred
• Strong organizational and multitasking skills
• Excellent written and verbal communication
• Proficient in Microsoft Office, Google Suite; familiarity with Cision, Launchmetrics a plus
• Interest in fashion, media, and digital trends
• Ability to work in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment
