Job Purpose

OxEon Energy is seeking a highly motivated **Quality Engineering Intern** to support the procurement and quality processes for both space and terrestrial hardware. This role is responsible for coordinating the procurement workflow from engineering bill of material (BOM) release through supplier coordination, receiving inspection, and material release. Working within established AS9100D-compliant systems and procedures, the intern will ensure that engineering documentation, certifications, traceability, and procurement records are complete, accurate, and controlled before material release to production.

Success in this role requires the ability to manage multiple efforts simultaneously, communicate effectively across multi-disciplinary teams, and consistently execute defined processes accurately. Duties And Responsibilities

• Support Supply Chain by coordinating the procurement process from engineering Bill of Material (BOM) release through material approval for fabrication.
• Review engineering BOMs, drawings, specifications, and purchase requests for completeness and accuracy prior to procurement.
• Coordinate with Engineering, Supply Chain, Manufacturing, and Quality teams to ensure materials meet project schedules and technical requirements and effective revision control.
• Verify supplier documentation, certifications, traceability records, and compliance with AS9100D quality requirements.
• Track procurement status and proactively communicate material availability, shortages, and risks to project teams.
• Review received materials and documentation to ensure all quality requirements have been satisfied before releasing materials to production.
• Maintain accurate procurement, inspection, and quality records within company systems.
• Assist in identifying and resolving documentation discrepancies, supplier quality issues, and nonconforming materials.
• Participate in continuous improvement initiatives to streamline procurement and quality workflows.
• Support internal and external quality audits by organizing and maintaining required documentation.
• Work closely with engineering teams to ensure design intent is effectively translated into procurement specifications.
• Perform additional quality engineering and project support activities as assigned.

• Interns who perform well during the summer internship may be considered part-time employment during the academic year. Continued employment requires at least 15 hours per week during non-summer semesters.


Minimum Experience Requirements

• Work experience demonstrates the ability to communicate effectively and clearly. Self-motivated with the ability to collaborate in a team environment.

• Previo s work in a manufacturing environment

• 2+ years of study towards a relevant degree- Quality Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering
