Role Description This is an internship role for an MFT or Psy.D Associate in a hybrid setting based in Orange County, CA, with some work-from-home flexibility. The Associate will provide individual, couples, and family therapy under clinical supervision, including intake assessments, treatment planning, and ongoing psychotherapy sessions. Day-to-day tasks include maintaining clear and timely clinical documentation, coordinating care with supervisors and other providers, and participating in case consultation meetings. The Associate will attend regular supervision, engage in trainings, follow ethical and legal guidelines, and contribute to a respectful and inclusive environment for clients and colleagues.
Qualifications
• Active MFT or Psy.D Associate registration with the California Board of Behavioral Sciences or relevant licensing board.
• Foundational skills in conducting clinical assessments, developing treatment plans, and providing individual and couples/family therapy.
• Ability to maintain accurate, timely clinical notes and manage a caseload in compliance with legal, ethical, and organizational standards.
• Strong interpersonal, communication, and listening skills, with the ability to build rapport and maintain professional boundaries.
• Commitment to culturally responsive care and working effectively with clients from diverse backgrounds, identities, and life experiences.
• Comfort with hybrid work, including use of telehealth platforms and basic technology (EMR systems, secure messaging, video conferencing).
• Willingness to engage in ongoing supervision, training, and feedback to support learning and professional growth.
• Master’s or doctoral-level education in psychology, marriage and family therapy, counseling, or a closely related mental health field.
