Internship Description

Company Description The Wellness Center at the Boys & Girls Club of Northern Westchester supports the emotional, social, and physical well-being of youth and families in the community. Grounded in positive youth development, evidence-based practices, and trauma-informed care, our Center emphasizes positive psychology and play-based approaches that meet young people where they are. A team of licensed clinicians and graduate-level interns offers accessible mental health services, wellness workshops, and social-emotional support in a safe and inclusive setting. Through individual and group sessions, community partnerships, and family resources, our Center integrates play therapy, mindfulness, and strength-based strategies to foster resilience, confidence, and connection. Wellness is embedded in everyday Club experiences so that young people feel seen, supported, and ready to learn and grow.
Role Description The Fall Wellness Intern will support the Wellness Center’s programs and services as part of an on-site team located in Mount Kisco, NY. This internship role includes assisting with the planning and facilitation of wellness workshops, social-emotional learning activities, and play-based interventions for youth. The intern will help provide supportive check-ins, co-facilitate groups under supervision, and assist with intakes, documentation, and resource preparation. Day-to-day responsibilities may also involve collaborating with staff on program development, gathering and organizing materials for activities, and helping coordinate family and community outreach. The intern will participate in regular supervision and training, contribute to a safe and inclusive environment, and uphold trauma-informed and strength-based practices throughout all interactions.
