Role Description The Intern Counselor role is an internship position that supports the delivery of counseling and coaching services to clients. This is a hybrid role based in Aledo, TX, with a mix of in-office work and some work from home, including potential telehealth and digital communication tasks. Day-to-day responsibilities may include assisting with intake and scheduling, shadowing licensed counselors, participating in client sessions under supervision, and documenting session notes and progress in accordance with ethical and legal standards. The intern may help facilitate individual or group sessions, support community-based services, and contribute to educational materials or resources for clients. Additional tasks can include coordinating communication with clients via phone, text, email, or video, engaging in supervision and training, and supporting administrative processes to ensure a smooth and welcoming client experience.
Qualifications

• Currently enrolled in or recently completed a graduate program in counseling, social work, psychology, or a closely related field, with eligibility for supervised clinical hours.
• Foundational knowledge of counseling theories, techniques, and evidence-informed practices, with a commitment to ethical and culturally responsive care.
• Strong interpersonal, communication, and active listening skills, with the ability to build rapport and maintain professional boundaries.
• Ability to maintain accurate documentation, follow clinical protocols, and respect confidentiality and privacy requirements (e.g., HIPAA compliance).
• Comfort using technology for telehealth sessions, secure messaging, and electronic scheduling; proficiency in basic office software is beneficial.
• Ability to work in a hybrid environment in Aledo, TX, including in-office, community-based, and remote settings, with reliable transportation as needed.
• Demonstrated reliability, willingness to receive feedback, and openness to ongoing supervision and professional development.
• Previous experience in mental health, coaching, or client-facing roles is a plus but not required.
