Internship Description

Role Description
This Fall Remote Business and Marketing Internship offers hands-on experience supporting the planning and promotion of Charleston Cocktail Week. The intern will assist with market research, business planning tasks, and tracking key metrics related to festival operations and partnerships. Day-to-day responsibilities include updating marketing materials, supporting social media and email campaigns, and helping manage communication with participating venues, partners, and pass holders. The role also involves responding to basic customer inquiries, assisting with administrative tasks, and contributing ideas to enhance guest engagement and brand visibility. This is a remote internship role, designed for candidates located on the East Coast who can collaborate virtually with the core team.


This is an unpaid, learning internship for college credit and does not result in a paid position upon completion. Fal internship dates are from August 10th-December 14th. Regular business hours are Monday-Friday from 8:00-5:00pm Eastern Standard Time and the part-time internship is 20 hours per week. Students will receive college credit for their major upon successful completion of this volunteer position.


Qualifications
• Strong business foundation, including Business Planning and Business skills for supporting operational and strategic initiatives.
• Demonstrated Analytical Skills to conduct research, interpret data, and summarize insights for marketing and business decisions.
• Effective Communication abilities to collaborate with team members, partners, and guests in a professional and clear manner.
• Customer Service orientation to support attendee inquiries and contribute to a positive festival experience.
• Interest in events, hospitality, or food and beverage industries; prior internship or project experience is a plus.
• Ability to work independently in a remote environment, manage time effectively, and meet deadlines.
• Proficiency with basic digital tools (e.g., email platforms, spreadsheets, social media) and willingness to learn new systems.
• Enrollment in or recent completion of a relevant academic program (such as business, marketing, communications, or hospitality) preferred.

Charleston Cocktail Week is an annual week-long festival held every April, celebrating the cocktail culture and culinary talent of Charleston’s top bars and restaurants. The event brings together locals and visitors to enjoy craft cocktails and curated experiences led by renowned chefs, mixologists, and bartenders. Pass holders gain access to participating venues, discounted signature cocktails, and special events such as dinners, tastings, and cooking classes. Charleston Cocktail Week maintains an active digital presence where guests and partners can learn more and stay engaged throughout the year.
