Company Description Her House Media is an independent film and media company dedicated to producing impact-driven stories written and directed by women of color. We believe women of color deserve the opportunity to tell their own stories—stories that preserve culture, challenge assumptions, spark conversation, and inspire meaningful action. Through film, books, photography, and community engagement, Her House Media creates experiences that extend far beyond the screen while amplifying voices that have historically been underrepresented in the entertainment industry.
Our current feature film, DOUEN, inspired by the folklore of Trinidad and Tobago, explores generational trauma, healing, and Caribbean cultural preservation. As we prepare for the community premiere of our debut feature film, DOUEN, we're looking for a Creative Producer Intern who is excited to help build not only the launch of a film, but the future of an independent media company committed to meaningful storytelling and community impact.
About the Internship This is an unpaid fellowship designed for someone who is eager to gain hands-on experience in independent filmmaking, creative producing, marketing, and community engagement. In addition to hands-on experience, the selected intern will receive mentorship in independent filmmaking, producing, community engagement, and building a sustainable creative career.
This is not a "coffee run" internship. You'll have a seat at the table, contribute ideas, take ownership of projects, and play a meaningful role in helping move Her House Media and DOUEN forward.
Ideal candidates are curious, resourceful, creative problem-solvers who believe storytelling can create positive change.
