Role Description The Cerakote Specialist internship is an on-site role based in Houston, TX. Interns will assist with preparing parts and surfaces for coating, including cleaning, sanding, masking, and inspection. They will learn and support the mixing, application, and curing of Cerakote coatings according to established specifications and safety standards. Day-to-day responsibilities include operating shop equipment, maintaining a clean and organized workspace, tracking work orders, and helping with quality checks to ensure proper finish and durability. Interns may also support team communication with customers and vendors, and contribute to continuous improvement of processes under the guidance of experienced technicians.
Qualifications
• Interest in surface finishing, coatings, or related trades, with a willingness to learn Cerakote application techniques.
• Ability to perform hands-on work, including lifting, standing for extended periods, and using basic hand and power tools safely.
• Strong attention to detail, quality-focused mindset, and ability to follow technical instructions and standard operating procedures.
• Basic understanding of shop safety practices, including proper use of personal protective equipment and awareness of chemical handling guidelines.
• Effective communication skills and ability to work collaboratively in a small team environment.
• Reliable work ethic, punctuality, and readiness to complete tasks with minimal supervision once trained.
• High school diploma or equivalent; technical coursework or experience in automotive, manufacturing, or finishing is a plus.
• Ability to pass any required background checks in accordance with applicable laws and company policy.
Compensation
This is a paid internship. Wages will be determined prior to start date.
