Role Description The Software Verification Intern will support the verification and validation of software used in flight data tools and related systems. Day-to-day tasks include executing test cases, documenting results, and assisting in the analysis of defects and system behavior. The intern will help maintain test environments, prepare test data, and collaborate with engineering and quality teams to ensure software meets functional and safety requirements. Additional responsibilities may include contributing to test procedure development, updating verification documentation, and participating in team meetings and reviews. This is an on-site internship role based in East Aurora, NY.
Qualifications
• Foundational knowledge of software testing and verification methodologies, including writing and executing test cases and documenting defects.
• Basic programming or scripting skills (e.g., C/C++, Python, or similar) and familiarity with version control tools such as Git.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, with attention to detail when reviewing logs, test results, and technical documentation.
• Ability to read and interpret technical specifications, requirements, and design documents, and translate them into test activities.
• Effective written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to collaborate in a multidisciplinary engineering environment.
• Currently pursuing or recently completed a degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related technical field.
• Interest in aviation, flight data systems, or safety-critical software; prior exposure to embedded systems or real-time applications is a plus.
• Demonstrated reliability, willingness to learn, and ability to work on-site in East Aurora, NY for the duration of the internship.
