Hey yall,
My name is Victoria Beaman and I am happy to be one of your professors. I received my B.A. in Psychology from the University of West Florida in 2013 and my M.A. in Exceptional Student Education from the University of West Florida in 2016. I have been a BCBA since 2016 and have worked with ages 2-25 in clinical, home, and school settings.
I am working towards my Ph.D. in Applied Behavior Analysis focusing on compassionate care training for direct care staff. I am an adjunct faculty member at Capella University, Texas A &M- San Antonio, Troy University, and University of West Florida in both the Applied Behavior Analysis and Psychology Departments. I am a CABAS Teacher 1 and heavily center my work around the development of verbal cusps and capabilities for early learners (ages 2-6). I enjoy conducting small-scale research surrounding the utilization of PFA/SBT and the induction of pre-verbal cusps and capabilities and peer-yoked contingencies. I presented some of that work at Gulf Coast ABA 2023, ABPA 2023, TxABA 2023, and the Contemporary and Compassionate Care to Support Individuals with Intellectual Disabilities 2024.
