Biography

Hey yall,
My name is Victoria Beaman, and I am happy to be one of your professors. I received my B.A. in Psychology from the University of West Florida in 2013 and my M.A. in Exceptional Student Education from the University of West Florida in 2016. I have been a BCBA since 2016 and have worked with ages 2-25 in clinical, home, and school settings.

I am a doctoral candidate at Capella University with research focusing on compassionate care, training empathetic responding, and active listening) for direct care staff serving individuals with developmental and/or intellectual disabilities. I am an adjunct faculty member at Capella University, Texas A&M-San Antonio, Troy University, and the University of West Florida in Applied Behavior Analysis. I am a CABAS Teacher 1 and PFA/SBT Level 6 Trainer/Supervisor, allowing my clinical focus to center around developing verbal cusps and capabilities using compassionate techniques. I enjoy conducting small-scale research surrounding the utilization of PFA/SBT and the induction of pre-verbal cusps and capabilities, increasing peer approvals through peer-yoked contingencies, and using event-based teaching to support socially significant goals. I presented this research from 2023 to the present day and enjoy going to local conferences and demonstrating my learners outcomes.
