James OBerry


 

James Michael O’Berry II received two Bachelor of Arts degrees in Criminal Justice and Psychology from the University of North Florida, where he also received his Master of Science in Criminal Justice. He received his Ph.D. in Criminal Justice and Criminology from Georgia State University. James’ research interests include motivation, target selection, and offender decision-making, particularly regarding the perpetration of sexual violence. Additionally, he is also interested in the intersection of popular media and various criminological and criminal justice-related issues, including media such as music and film. James currently serves as Managing Editor for Criminology, the flagship journal of the American Society of Criminology. He is currently serving as an Assistant Professor at Texas A&M University-San Antonio.
