Dr. Lechuga is an Assistant Professor of Psychology in the Department of Health and Behavioral Sciences at Texas A&M University - San Antonio. She received her Ph.D. in Social-Cultural Psychology, M.A. in Experimental Psychology, and a certification in Quantitative Methods in Psychology from The University of Texas at El Paso.
Dr. Lechuga directs the Applied Methods for Optimizing Relationships (AMOR) lab, where her research examines both the positive and challenging aspects of human relationships. Her work primarily focuses on intimate partner violence, child abuse and neglect, sustainability, and higher education. Across these areas, Dr. Lechuga investigates key questions in social and personality psychology, with the goal of advancing knowledge that can improve individual lives and strengthen communities.
