Dr. Vipul Garg is an Assistant Professor of Supply Chain Management in the College of Business at Texas A&M University-San Antonio. He holds a Ph.D. in Supply Chain Management, an MS in Data Science, and a BS in Computer Science Engineering. Before pursuing his Ph.D., Dr. Garg spent over three years as a Data Scientist and Product Manager, where he collaborated with global clients to develop software products, data science, and machine learning solutions. His research interests focus on supply chain design, sustainable practices, and decision-making using emerging technologies, particularly in last-mile deliveries and drone logistics.
Dr. Garg is also part of research grants from the National Science Foundation (NSF) and NASA, working on projects related to air mobility and distracted driving. He has co-authored numerous papers published in prestigious journals such as Transportation Research Part D and the Journal of Business and Industrial Marketing, with several other papers currently under review. In addition, Dr. Garg has presented his research at leading national and international conferences, including the Council of Supply Chain Management Professionals (CSCMP), the Production and Operations Management Society (POMS), and the Decision Science Institute (DSI).
In his academic role, Dr. Garg actively collaborates with colleagues to develop and revise course content, organize industry guest lectures, and mentor students. He brings expertise in data analysis, machine learning, and supply chain analytics, utilizing tools such as Python, SPSS, SAS, STATA, and MiniTab. His interdisciplinary background and passion for advancing the field of supply chain management continue to drive his contributions to both academia and industry.
