Biography

 

Mr. Carlos Ortiz is a San Antonio native, married to his wife for 40 years. He earned his undergratduate at Southwest Texas State University (now Texas State) and has a Masters degree in Kinesiology from A&M-SA. He has presented graduate research at the professional conference and holds a certification in coaching with USA Trialthlon. Mr. Ortiz has been coaching triathletes for eight years and himself is a four time Ironman finisher (2.4 mile swim, 120 bike ride and 26.2 mile run). He has also competed in five half Ironman races, several times in the coveted Escape from Alcatraz triathlon in San Francisco, California, as well as numerous Olympic and sprint distance races. Mr. Ortiz has 33 years of law enforcement experience.
