Dr. Anghelo J. Gangano received his PhD in chemistry from the University of Florida where he researched organic synthesis and asymmetric transformations under the supervision of Dr. Alexander J. Grenning. His publications explore cannabinoids and their biological/chemical nature as well as axial chirality or atropisomerism. He obtained his bachelor’s degrees in biology and chemistry from Concordia University Wisconsin where he performed undergraduate research in the laboratories of Dr. Joseph B. Fisher and Dr. Christopher W. Cunningham.
Dr. Gangano prides himself in being a well-rounded individual and spends most of his free time on the tennis court, playing the guitar, or rock climbing at San Antonio’s very own Armadillo Boulders. He has served as a senator in the University of Florida’s student senate, an officer with his graduate employee union, and treasurer of UF’s tennis club. His favorite volunteer group is Love Serving Autism, and he is actively looking for similar volunteer opportunities in the San Antonio area!
