Adjunct Faculty
Dr. Loida González Utley serves as Director of Recruitment and Enrollment Services at Texas A&M University–Central Texas, where she leads strategic initiatives focused on expanding access, strengthening transfer pathways, and improving student success through data-informed enrollment practice. She brings more than a decade of experience in higher education leadership, specializing in enrollment management, learning mobility, and equity-driven transfer policy.
Dr. González Utley is the inaugural Conference Director for AACRAO’s national conference, The Assembly, and host of Transfer Tea: An AACRAO Podcast, where she advances national dialogue on credit mobility and student-centered reform. She also serves as adjunct faculty in Spanish, where she integrates cultural analysis, literature, and applied leadership perspectives into the curriculum.
She earned her Doctor of Education in Educational Leadership from Texas A&M University–Kingsville. Her research examines the perceptions of community college professionals regarding transfer-intending students who do not complete the transfer process, with particular attention to structural barriers, institutional practice, and equity. Her scholarly interests also include Latin American magical realism, Borderlands studies, and Spanish Peninsular literature, with emphasis on identity, power, and social context in literary production.
