Dr. Todd Wolfe is an educator, technology executive, researcher, and practitioner with more than 20 years of higher-education teaching experience and 25 years of enterprise technology leadership. He has taught students across multiple universities in areas including artificial intelligence, data analytics, cybersecurity, cloud computing, software development, web technologies, database systems, and information systems.
At Texas A&M, Dr. Wolfe works with senior students in capstone education, helping learners connect academic concepts with the realities of designing, developing, and delivering technology solutions in professional environments. His teaching emphasizes applied learning, problem solving, technical communication, responsible technology use, and the connection between technology decisions and measurable business outcomes.
Dr. Wolfe earned a Doctor of Computer Science in Big Data Analytics from Colorado Technical University and an MBA in Management Information Systems from the University at Albany, SUNY.
Alongside his academic career, Dr. Wolfe has held senior technology leadership positions across the insurance, banking, healthcare, and consulting industries. Most recently, he served as Vice President/Director of Artificial Intelligence and Digital Development at Utica National Insurance Group, where he led enterprise AI strategy, digital development, AI governance, responsible-AI adoption, and modernization initiatives.
His work has included establishing enterprise AI governance and adoption frameworks, developing generative AI and retrieval-augmented generation solutions, implementing cloud and API architectures, advancing analytics and automation, and leading technology teams responsible for large-scale digital transformation. He has also led AI literacy and responsible-AI education initiatives reaching 500+ employees and developed governance processes supporting the safe adoption of emerging technologies within regulated organizations.
Dr. Wolfes academic and professional interests include artificial intelligence, responsible AI governance, generative AI, enterprise architecture, data analytics, digital transformation, cloud computing, software engineering, technology strategy, and the future of work. His current scholarly work explores practical operating models for responsible AI governance, human oversight, AI literacy, organizational adoption, and the impact of artificial intelligence on people and leadership.
Throughout his career, Dr. Wolfe has focused on a common goal across both industry and higher education: helping people understand complex technology, apply it responsibly, and turn technical capability into meaningful outcomes.
