Nathan R. Talamantez is an artist and educator based in San Antonio, Texas. He holds a Master of Fine Arts from the University of Hawaiʻi at Mānoa and a Bachelor of Fine Arts from the University of Texas at San Antonio. He currently teaches Art Appreciation at the University of Texas A&M.
Talamantez’s creative practice focuses on analog and digital photography, with an emphasis on memory, perception, and place. His work often incorporates found imagery and digital manipulation to examine how photographs function as visual records and cultural artifacts. In the classroom, he emphasizes visual literacy, critical thinking, and accessible engagement with art history and contemporary practice.
