Before entering academia, Jingyu worked as a research associate in the Department of Psychology at Peking University and as a management consultant in Beijing.

Research

Jingyu’s research primarily examines leadership at the intersection of work and family. She is particularly interested in how leaders’ experiences and relationships outside of work shape their emotions, identities, well-being, and behaviors at work. Her current work investigates how interactions with romantic partners carry over across domains and influence leadership processes and outcomes.

A related stream of her research examines how leaders experience and navigate the interpersonal demands of their roles. She also studies interpersonal processes in newcomer socialization, with a focus on how everyday interactions at work facilitate newcomer adjustment. Her broader research interests span leadership, work–nonwork dynamics, newcomer socialization, and interpersonal relationships.

Her research has been published in the Journal of Applied Psychology, and her ongoing work has been recognized by the Society for Industrial and Organizational Psychology and the Network of Leadership Scholars at the Academy of Management.
