Laura Y. Davila, M.S. is a Clinical Assistant Professor in the Office of Clinical Experiences at Texas A&M University–San Antonio. She brings 24 years of experience in Texas public education, having served as a bilingual classroom teacher, assistant principal, academic dean, and elementary principal. These experiences have shaped her passion for instructional leadership, educator development, and preparing future teachers with the knowledge, skills, and confidence needed to succeed.

Laura earned a Bachelor of Science in Elementary Education with an emphasis in Bilingual Education and a Master of Science in Educational Administration from Texas A&M University–Corpus Christi. Her areas of professional expertise include instructional coaching, T-TESS, curriculum and instruction, Professional Learning Communities, and bilingual and dual language education.

Her educational philosophy is grounded in the belief that all students deserve equitable access to high-quality learning experiences and educators who recognize their strengths and potential. Laura is committed to creating supportive, collaborative environments where teacher candidates are encouraged to reflect, grow, and develop into confident, student-centered educators. She believes that high expectations, meaningful feedback, and continuous reflection are essential to professional growth.

Beyond her academic and professional work, Laura values spending quality time with her family, traveling, and expressing her creativity through hands-on projects. She believes that maintaining a healthy balance between professional purpose, personal well-being, and meaningful relationships allows educators to remain passionate and effective throughout their careers.
